At Social Compass Counseling, our focus is building upon your child's strengths - and supporting the parents who know them best. Together we work on the resilience, social connections, and coping skills that last a lifetime.
About Michele
My professional career has been focused on helping children and their families find their way and their worth. As both a licensed mental health counselor and school psychologist, I bring a deep understanding of how children learn, grow, and navigate the world around them.
At Social Compass, our approach is strengths-based from the start. I work alongside children and the parents who support them - building resilience, social connections, and emotional regulation tools that carry into real life. We also recognize that healthy, happy families start with parents who feel supported - which is why working with parents is a core part of the work here.
I work with toddlers through teens, and I welcome families navigating autism, anxiety, ADHD, social challenges, school stress, and more. Evening and weekend appointments are available for working families.
The Space
Who We Help
Every child is different. Sessions are individualized to meet your child where they are - drawing on their strengths and working toward the specific goals your family identifies.
Individualized instruction in social learning, perspective-taking, and peer relationships to help children on the spectrum build meaningful connections.
Practical tools for managing worry, fear, and stress - grounded in CBT, ACT, and mindfulness approaches that children can actually use day to day.
Strategies for attention, impulse control, and self-regulation that work alongside school and home environments for consistent, lasting change.
From learning differences to peer relationship struggles, support that bridges the gap between the therapy room and your child's everyday school experience.
Treatment Approach
No two children are alike, and no single approach fits every family. Sessions draw from a wide range of evidence-based modalities - always with a strengths-based foundation and a warm, collaborative relationship at the center.
Play therapy, art therapy, and sandplay make the work feel natural for younger children. CBT, DBT, and ACT give older kids and teens practical tools they can carry into their lives.
Every child brings something to the table. Therapy starts by identifying and building on what your child already does well.
Parents and caregivers are an essential part of the process. We work together so progress in sessions carries into home and school.
No cookie-cutter programs. Each treatment plan is tailored to your child's age, needs, learning style, and family goals.
